BRYAN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS APPROVE LAND FOR THE BRYAN COUNTY BARK PARK
Bryan County, GA – April 10, 2013 – Bark Park brings great news for dog lovers living in the Richmond Hill area when the Bryan County Commissioners unanimously approved the allocation of 1.5 acres within Henderson Park at their monthly meeting.
At the meeting, commissioners heard a presentation about extensive local support for the Bark Park and agreed unanimously to clear and prepare land for the setting up of a dog park for public use by responsible dog owners. The land to be located in Henderson Park, will be formally granted when the Bryan County Bark Park gathers $10,000 for the building of fencing and other essential items for the dog park with the understanding that the County will provide basic maintenance but that additional insurance and upkeep will be indemnified by the Bryan County Bark Park.
Wendy Bolton, President of the Bryan County Bark Park, “This is wonderful news and we are confident of reaching our fundraising goals to enable us to start work on the allocated land within Henderson Park which is a beautiful area alongside water and with plenty of trees. We have already received some generous donations and people have been giving their spare change in the collection boxes around town. Our fundraising event on April 25th will be an important part of reaching our initial goal of $10,000 to start building the Bark Park.”
The April 25th wine and cheese event will take place from 5-8pm at Marker 107, 2943 Kilkenny Road. Jeff’s Beverage will provide the wine and also have wine connoisseur staff on hand to share information on their selection of wines to appeal to every palate. For those people who prefer not to drink wine, a cash bar will also be available.
The event begins at 5pm with an impressive range of fine wines, savory cheeses and delicious hors d’oeuvres. The stunning views of Kilkenny Creek will provide a relaxing evening and a beautiful backdrop to live music by talented local musician, Roger Widener. Silent and live auctions will also be held with many one of-a-kind-items which are sure to appeal to everyone – especially dog lovers.

The money raised supports the Bryan County Bark Park fundraising campaign, a non-profit organization obtaining 501(c)3 status. Donations may be tax deductible.
